I have it positioned on the wall near the entrance and although it is not quite as sensitive as far as the motion detector specs claim, the siren is so loud that it even if it didn’t scare thieves into leaving, the sound would cause hearing damage. It is loud enough that if you opened the doors and windows of your home it can be heard on the entire street. For the price they provide both a sign AND stickers, something most do not do. If not for the sensitivity issue (more closer to 15 feet or so than 20) and the fact that mounting it on your wall causes it to have to be held while you punch in your codes. The alarm is one of the few which is actually as loud as advertised. This product operate by 3 AAA batteries.
